Inspired by Wallis Annenberg’s belief that beauty, history, and recreation should be shared, not reserved for a few, our work in community access creates spaces where people of all backgrounds can connect with one another and with the world around them. Through the Foundation, historic sites and cultural landmarks are transformed into vibrant, welcoming public places that foster connection, belonging, and joy.
Featured Initiative: The Annenberg Community Beach House
A one-of-a-kind public destination where history, recreation, and the California coast come together.
Once the private estate of Marion Davies, the Beach House was transformed into a public space with the vision and determination of Wallis Annenberg. It was subsequently donated to the City of Santa Monica, which now operates the site. Today, it continues to receive support from the Wallis Annenberg Legacy Foundation and welcomes people of all backgrounds with amenities including a historic pool, splash pad, playground, event and meeting spaces, and sweeping ocean views, without membership fees.
