Featured Initiative: Annenberg Wildlife Crossing
An unprecedented conservation project reconnecting habitats and saving lives.
The Annenberg Wildlife Crossing supported by Wallis Annenberg is a project she called “near and dear to my heart”. It will be the largest wildlife overpass in the world, spanning ten freeway lanes and an access road to allow wildlife safe passage across the 101 Freeway in Agoura Hills. Designed to allow mountain lions, bobcats, and countless other species safe passage across one of California’s busiest highways, the crossing repairs a critical ecological link in the Santa Monica Mountains. With native vegetation and habitat restoration integrated into its design, the project stands as a global model for innovative conservation and community collaboration.
Wildlife Crossing Impact Highlights
